Delete a Product

Overview

This section explains the steps for deleting product masters and precautions during deletion.

Purpose

The primary purpose is to organize unnecessary product masters and exclude incorrectly registered or no longer used products from management, thereby keeping the Product List and related features clear and maintaining the management state.

Furthermore, by not leaving behind unused product masters, the product information to be referenced is clarified, suppressing operational confusion and reference inconsistencies due to misunderstandings.

Feature Description

Nature of Deletion

Product deletion is reflected immediately. There is no operation to restore a product master after deletion.

Conditions Restricting Deletion

If even one of the products targeted for deletion is linked to a Catalog, the deletion cannot be executed.

Instructions

Open the product management screen

Click the Products menu.
The screen transitions to the "product management" page.

Delete Product

Start the operation from the product list.

tip

You can search for products by filtering through each item in Search Products.

  1. Select Products
Check the box for the products to be deleted to select them. Multiple selections are possible.
To target all products matching the current search criteria, click Select All.

  2. Click Delete selected products.
    The "Delete products" modal opens.

  3. After thoroughly reviewing the preview, click the Delete button.

If the process is successful, the products will be deleted.
If the process fails, an error screen will be displayed. Please check the details and try again.

Note that once a product is deleted, it cannot be restored.

Important Notes

May affect data display

When a product is deleted, inconsistencies may occur in dependent data such as orders, delivery notes, and billing invoices, and it may be displayed as Unknown product.

Unless there are operational constraints, deletion is not recommended.

Large-scale bulk processing is not supported

While bulk deletion of multiple products is possible via the UI, large-scale bulk processing functions such as via Excel import are currently not supported.

Troubleshooting

Deletion fails (contains products linked to a catalog)

When executing deletion, if even one of the target products is linked to a Catalog, the deletion will fail.
The names of all related catalogs will be displayed on the screen.

Exclude the products to be deleted from the displayed catalogs, and then execute the deletion again.
The steps to remove targets from a catalog are as follows:

  1. Click the Catalogs menu.
The screen transitions to the "catalog management" screen.
  2. Click Edit products to be included in the catalog for the catalog to which the target product is linked.
  3. Uncheck the products to be deleted from the catalog.
  4. Click the Apply button.

Once the exclusion from the catalog is complete, execute the product deletion again from the Products menu.
