Create a SKU Template

Overview

Create a SKU Template to define the attribute composition of SKUs used during Product creation.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the SKU Template feature is to manage SKU configurations under consistent rules by pre-defining the combination (composition) of attributes that make up a SKU as a template and referencing it during Product creation.

By managing the SKU composition as a master separate from the Product, it limits the room for individual judgment on a per-product basis and prevents operational variations or errors in judgment.
This enables careful and controlled Product registration based on the premise that SKU configurations are difficult to change.

Feature Description

What is a SKU Template?

A SKU Template is a templated "composition of attributes" that represents the minimum management unit of a Product.

By specifying a SKU Template when creating a Product, the combination of attributes that make up the SKU is applied in a pre-defined form.

Example of Attribute Composition (Apparel Products)

As an example of apparel products, if Color is specified for the first level property and Size is specified for the second level property of the SKU Template, the Product can have variations registered as SKUs with a Color-Size composition.

In this case, it is managed as Model Number-Color-Size as one SKU on the Product master, and operations such as Inventory Management are also based on Model Number-Color-Size.

SKU Template Status

A SKU Template has two statuses: Active and Draft.

  • Active: The state where the SKU Template is finalized. Once a SKU Template becomes active, it cannot be edited.
  • Draft: The state where the SKU Template is not finalized. SKU Templates in draft status can be edited.

Instructions

Navigate to the SKU Template Creation Screen

  1. Click the Products menu.
  2. Click Product Attributes.
Transitions to the "Product Attribute Settings" page.
  3. Click the SKU Templates tab.
  4. Click Create A New SKU Template.
The "Create A SKU Template" modal will be displayed.

How to Fill Out the Form

  1. SKU Template No.
    Enter any string.

The "SKU Template No." is also used as the display name for the SKU Template.
Please enter a string that does not duplicate with existing SKU Templates.

  2. SKU Properties
Check and select the SKU Properties to be set in the SKU Template.

SKU Properties are attribute masters for defining attributes (e.g., Color) that make up a SKU in "Product Management."
Properties can be defined in a hierarchical structure within a SKU Template.

Example: If Color is set as the first level property and Size as the second level property, variations can be registered as SKUs with a Color-Size composition during Product creation.

  3. SKU property column swapping settings
You can swap the display contents of the SKU Property 1 column and SKU Property 2 column on the PDF.
To swap them, check the box to enable the setting.

The SKU property column swapping settings are only possible for SKU Templates where SKU Properties are specified in "2 levels."

  4. SKU Property Symbol
Select the SKU Property to be treated as a symbol from the dropdown.
Thumbnail images and Color Chips can be registered and displayed for the SKU Property selected as a symbol.

  5. Reorder SKU Properties
You can reorder the hierarchy of SKU Properties by dragging and dropping.

Create / Save as Draft the SKU Template

After filling out each item in the form, click the Create button or Save as Draft.

  • Create: Creates the SKU Template in the Active status. It will become available for application during Product creation.
  • Save as Draft: Saves the SKU Template in the Draft status. SKU Templates in draft status cannot be used for Product registration.

Please note that a SKU Template once created as Active cannot be edited, so check the input details thoroughly before creating.
