Set Product SKU as Not Eligible for Backorder
Overview
Using the product creation and editing functions, you can specify a product SKU as not eligible for backorder.
The specification for not being eligible for backorder can be set for each SKU.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the Not eligible for backorder setting is to prevent incorrect orders by differentiating between a SKU that can be accepted for backorder when out of stock and a SKU that should be excluded from ordering on a per-SKU basis.
In addition, by clearly defining the handling of each SKU, operations can be standardized, and variations in judgment by the person in charge can be reduced.
Feature Description
What is Backorder?
"Backorder" refers to a system where out-of-stock products remain available for order, and once an order is placed, the product is shipped as soon as inventory arrives.
In catalogs where backorder is enabled, buyers can freely enter quantities and place orders even if the inventory is 0.
What is Not Eligible for Backorder?
SKUs set as not eligible for backorder will become unavailable for ordering once inventory reaches 0, even in catalogs where backorder is enabled.
For example, on the Add to Cart screen, users cannot enter a quantity for that SKU.
Unit of Specification
The not eligible for backorder status can be specified for each SKU rather than per product.
