Edit a Product Category

Overview

You can edit created product categories and update them with the entered content.

Purpose

The category editing feature is primarily intended to keep categories up to date and centrally manage product classification information on DEXTRE.

Additionally, by standardizing the category update procedure, it leads to the standardization of operations and prevents dependency on specific individuals.

Types and hierarchies of product categories

Product categories are master data for classifying products.
Up to three levels can be defined, and the following category types are available for each level:

  • Category
  • Subcategory
  • Subsubcategory

Editable items

Currently, there are no restrictions on editable items.

Language Input for Category Names

Category names are entered by language.
Enter the category name for each language enabled in Core Preferences.

Instructions

Move to the Category Editing screen

  1. Click on the Products menu.
  2. Click on Product Attributes.
    Transitions to the "Product Attribute Settings" page.
  3. Click on the Categories tab.
    *It is open by default.
  4. Click on the Edit button for the category you want to edit.
    The "Category Editing" modal is displayed.

How to enter the form

Edit the input form as necessary.

  1. Category Type
    You can select from the following three product category types in the pull-down menu:

    • Category
    • Subcategory
    • Subsubcategory

    If you select Subcategory or Subsubcategory, specify the parent category.

  2. Category Name
    Enter the category name of the product by language.

    If the Copy checkbox is enabled, text will be copied from the primary language.

Update the product category

After confirming the form content, click on the Update button.
The product category is updated with the content of the entered data.

Important Notes

Please change the Category Type carefully

Changing the Category Type alters the category structure, so please proceed with caution.
Changing a category that is already being used and applied to products is not recommended.
