Create an Inventory Label

Overview

This section explains how to create an "Inventory Label" to manage and identify the nature and status of inventory.

Purpose

By defining Inventory Labels in advance, you can select labels based on the same criteria during registration, transfer, and management of inventory data. This helps in standardizing operations and preventing dependency on specific individuals.

Feature Description

Components of an Inventory Label

An Inventory Label consists of the following elements:

  • Label Code: A code to identify the Inventory Label. Full-width characters can also be entered.
  • Display Name: The name displayed on the inventory overview page, item options for various inventory operations, and inventory data export files.
  • Set as Default Label: When enabled, the relevant Inventory Label can be set as the system default.
If enabled, any Inventory Label already designated as the default will automatically have its default setting disabled.
  • Label Color: When enabled, you can set the display color for the Inventory Label.
  • Label Type: A type representing the status of the inventory.
  • Allow orders to be placed using inventory: Sets whether the label is subject to inventory sales in DEXTRE.
  • Allow negative inventory quantity: Sets whether the relevant Inventory Label can hold negative inventory quantities as data.

Label Type

Specify one of the following five label types:

Label TypeDescription
Future InventoryStatus where inventory does not exist yet but will become inventory in the future (e.g., under production, etc.)
Actual InventoryInventory already received at a warehouse or store, etc.
SoldStatus of being sold
Obsolete InventoryInventory disposed of after receipt (e.g., disposal of B-grade items, loss, etc.)
DiscontinuedStatus of being discontinued (e.g., trouble occurred during production, etc.)

About enabling inventory sales

By enabling inventory sales, the label can be made subject to inventory sales in DEXTRE.

  • Changes to this setting are only possible when switching from disabled to enabled.
  • Once created in an enabled state, it cannot be changed to disabled later.

About allowing negative inventory quantity

When the setting to allow negative inventory quantity is enabled, the relevant Inventory Label will be able to hold negative inventory quantities as data.
If the setting is disabled, the minimum value for inventory quantity will be 0.

Important Notes

About allowing negative inventory quantity

When the Allow negative inventory quantity setting is enabled, it becomes possible for the Inventory Label to hold negative inventory quantities as data.

Prior confirmation is required to determine if the operation permits the inventory count on the system to become negative.

About duplicate Label Codes

It is not possible to register a code that is the same as an existing Label Code that has already been registered.
