Enable the Partner Inventory Feature

Overview

This page explains how to enable the Partner Inventory feature to support business models such as consignment sales, consignment purchase, and leases.

Purpose

Enabling the Partner Inventory feature allows you to manage inventory allocation to buyers and sales reporting in one place, helping to standardize operations and prevent reliance on specific individuals.

Furthermore, defining Transaction Terms and catalogs dedicated to Partner Inventory helps ensure compliance and control.

Feature Description

Overview of the Partner Inventory feature

The Partner Inventory feature is provided to support business models such as consignment sales, consignment purchase, and leases.

When you enable the Partner Inventory feature, the following special data is created across the Maker and all Brand environments.

  • Tags (Buyer Tag, Order Tag)
  • Inventory Label
  • Inventory Location
  • Inventory Order Policy Name
  • Catalog

What you can do after enabling the Partner Inventory feature

Enabling the Partner Inventory feature allows you to do the following:

  • Create Partner Inventory Transfer Slips for goods dispatch and goods return.
    Based on the Partner Inventory Transfer Slip, you can allocate and manage inventory for buyers.
  • Buyers can place orders as sales reports from a dedicated catalog, based on the Partner Inventory allocated to them.
  • You can set Transaction Terms dedicated to Partner Inventory for each buyer.
  • You can create delivery notes that use Partner Inventory as the data source.
  • You can export data related to Partner Inventory.

Constraints after activation

After you enable the Partner Inventory feature, the following items cannot be changed or deleted later:

  • Special Tags (Buyer Tag, Order Tag)
  • Inventory Label
  • Inventory Location
  • Inventory Order Policy
  • Catalog

Decide on names that fit your internal operations before you enable the feature.

Also, all inventory movements for Partner Inventory must be performed via a Partner Inventory Transfer Slip.
You cannot register inventory directly or move inventory outside of these slips.

Instructions

Moving to the Partner Inventory Management screen

  1. Select the Inventories menu.
  2. Click the Partner Inventory tab.
  3. Click Set up Partner Inventory Management.
    You will be redirected to the "New Partner Inventory Allocation Rule" page.

How to fill out the form

Enter the names for the following items.

Default data is pre-filled for each item name, but you can customize them as needed.

  • Rate Name
  • Inventory Label
  • Inventory Location
  • Inventory Order Policy Name
  • Tag Name For Buyer
  • Tag Name For Order
  • Catalog Name
    • This is displayed to buyers.
    • Enter the name for each language.
    • If the Copy checkbox is enabled, the text is copied from the primary language.
    • The languages available are those enabled in the Core Preferences.

Enable the Partner Inventory feature

After confirming the entered details, click the Create button.

If processing succeeds, the Partner Inventory feature is enabled and you can use it in all Brand environments.

Important Notes

Regarding the cancellation of activation

Once the Partner Inventory feature is enabled, you cannot revert it.

Please align on how you will use it internally before you enable the feature.
