Create an Inventory Location

Overview

This section explains how to create a Location, which is the base information for inventory management.

Purpose

By defining inventory locations in advance, you can select locations based on the same criteria on the inventory overview page and in various inventory operations.

Distinguishing the intended use of a location (such as Warehouse, Store, or Office) by type and setting addresses and display colors helps with business standardization and prevents dependency on specific individuals.

Feature Description

Basic Information Defining a Location

A location is defined by a Location Code, which identifies the location, and a Display Name for the location.

Full-width characters can also be used for the location code.

Classification of Location Use

You can set a Location Type for a location according to its intended use. There are 8 types that can be specified:

  • Warehouse: Used for locations intended as warehouses
  • Office: Used for office locations
  • Store: Used for store locations
  • POP-UP Shop: Used for pop-up shop locations
  • 3PL: Used for third-party logistics warehouses
  • Online Store: Used for your company's e-commerce site
  • Third Party: Used for external systems, etc.
  • Other: Used for locations that do not fall into the above categories

Settings That Can Be Added According to Operations

When creating a location, you can set a Location Color and Address as needed.

By enabling the location color, you can set the display color for the location.

By enabling the address setting, you can register the address and company information for the location.

Handling of Default Locations

By enabling the default setting, you can set the inventory location as the system default.

If another inventory location is already designated as the default, the newly enabled location will become the default, and the existing default setting will automatically be disabled.
