Edit a Catalog PDF Template

Overview

This section explains the steps to edit and update an existing Catalog PDF Template.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the Catalog PDF template editing function is to standardize the PDF output format and unify operational rules, thereby achieving standardization of tasks and preventing reliance on specific individuals.

By unifying template settings, it also leads to the reduction of errors and prevention of misoperations.

Main Setting Items for Catalog PDF Templates

The main setting items for Catalog PDF Templates are as follows:

  • Header
  • Footer
  • Layout
  • Product Display Unit in PDF
  • Display Property Items

Template Status

Templates have two statuses:

StatusDescription
PublicThe template is published to buyers, and buyers can use it when downloading PDFs on the Buyer App side.
PrivateThe template is not published to buyers, and buyers cannot use it.

Product Display Unit in PDF

For the product display unit, you can specify one of the following:

  • Product Item Level: Uses one display frame per product.
  • Symbol SKU Item Level: Uses one display frame for each Symbol SKU of each product.

Display Property Items

For display property items, you can specify a wide range of items starting with Model Number and Product Name, including Custom Attributes and Blank Lines.

For each display item, you can specify the Font Size and whether to Truncate text.

Depending on the type of item, the displayed label name can be customized.

Price Display Items and Tax Specification

When specifying price as a display property item, you can specify the Tax to be applied.

Tax types must be created in the master data in advance. For details, please refer to Create a Tax Master.

Output Rules for Product Display Items

For SKU Property and SKU Option in the product display items, all valid variations for each level are output.

For Categories and Materials in the product display items, you can specify the number to be output.

  • Number Of Category Groups: Setting for the maximum number of categories registered to a product to be output.
  • Number Of Materials: A setting for the maximum number of materials registered to a product to be output.

Target of Custom Attributes

Custom Attributes in the display property items refer to "Product Custom Attributes." They are not "Catalog Custom Attributes."

Instructions

Navigating to the Catalog PDF Template Edit Screen

  1. Click the Catalogs menu.
  2. Click Catalog PDF Templates.
  3. Click the Edit button for the Catalog PDF Template you wish to edit.
    You will be directed to the "Edit Catalog PDF Template" page.

How to Fill Out the Form

Edit the input items as necessary.

How to Enter Basic Settings

  1. Template No.
    Enter a name to identify the template.
    Although it says "No.", it is also used as the display name.

    Since this name is displayed across all languages, it is recommended to use an English name if you are supporting multiple languages.

  2. Template Status
    Select from the dropdown whether to make the template Public or Private on the Buyer App side.

    • Public: Buyers can select from published templates on the Buyer App side to download the catalog as a PDF.

    • Private: The template will not be displayed on the Buyer App side.

      Note that even if all templates are set to Private, buyers can still download PDFs in the default format.

  3. Header Settings
    Specify via checkbox whether to output a title in the header of each page.

    • When Display catalog title in PDF. is checked: Outputs the title in the header of each page.
      • You can freely enter text in the Custom Catalog Title.
      • If left blank, the Catalog Name will be displayed as is.
    • When Display catalog title in PDF. is not checked: Nothing will be output in the header of each page.
  4. Footer Settings
    Specify the display position and content for the Catalog PDF footer.

    • Select the Position of the print date and page number from the dropdown.
      The display position can be selected from the following:

      • Move to the left
      • Move to the center
      • Move to the right
    • Checking Display the print date in the PDF. will display the print date in the Catalog PDF footer.

    • Checking Display page numbers in a PDF. will display the page numbers in the Catalog PDF footer.

  5. Layout
    Select the desired output layout for the Catalog PDF by checking the box.

  6. Border Settings
    Checking Add a border to the right side of the product. adds a vertical divider line to the right of each product display frame.

  7. Product Display Unit in PDF
    Specify the unit for products displayed in the Catalog PDF.

    Select from the following items in the dropdown:

    • Product Item Level: Uses one display frame per product.
    • Symbol SKU Item Level: Uses one display frame for each Symbol SKU of each product.
      The "Symbol Image" registered for the product will be used for the displayed image.
  8. Label Alignment
    Specify the alignment of display item labels such as Model Number, Product Name, and Price.

    Select Right or Left from the dropdown.

How to Enter Display Property Items

The configurable content varies depending on the specified display item.

The following operations are possible for each display item:

  • Reordering via drag-and-drop
  • Deletion using the trash can button
  1. Specify the display item from the dropdown.

    You can specify product display items such as Model Number, Product Name, Price, and SKU Property.

  2. Display Property Label
    Enter the item name to be displayed on the PDF.

    Since this will be common to all languages, entering it in English is recommended for multi-language support.

  3. Font Size
    Specify the font size from the dropdown. You can select from 6pt to 11pt.

  4. Truncate text.
    Specify whether to truncate the text via the checkbox.

    • When Truncate text. is enabled: The text is truncated based on the specified Maximum Number Of Line Breaks.
    • When Truncate text. is disabled: The text is displayed as is without truncation.
  5. Selectable Tax
    Set this only for display items related to price.

    Select the tax to be applied to the price from the dropdown.

    The Tax master must be created in advance.

  6. Number Of Category Groups
    Set this only for the Categories display item.

    Specify the maximum number of categories registered to a product to be output.

  7. Number Of Materials
    Set this only for the Materials display item.

    Specify the maximum number of materials registered to a product to be output.

  8. Add a Display Property
    Clicking the button allows you to add one product display item.

  9. Add a Blank Line
    Clicking the button allows you to add a blank line between display items.

    Specify the Height from 6pt to 11pt.

Updating the Catalog PDF Template

After confirming the input content, click the Update button.

Upon successful processing, the Catalog PDF Template will be updated.

Important Notes

Changes take effect immediately

Changes to the template are reflected immediately.

In particular, if the Template Status is set to Public or changed from Public to Private, it will also affect the buyer side.

No preview function exists

Currently, there is no preview function.

After updating the template, you must confirm and adjust by downloading a PDF from any catalog.

Note the combination of layout and information volume

Depending on the combination of layout, product display items, and the volume of information in the product data, content may overflow from the area that can be output on the PDF.

Especially when including Product Description in the display items, please specify a layout that can display a large amount of text.

Additionally, measures such as registering "Notes for Catalog PDF" separately on the Product master side and using it as a display item in the template are required.
