Edit a Catalog Custom Attribute

Overview

You can edit created Catalog Custom Attributes and update the content of the attribute definitions.

Purpose

The editing feature for Catalog Custom Attributes is used to modify the content or change display settings for attribute definitions that are already created and in use.

The goal is to centrally manage information and continuously maintain the definitions of input fields common to all Catalogs within a Brand.

This also helps in standardizing operations and preventing dependency on specific individuals.

Feature Description

What are Catalog Custom Attributes?

Catalog Custom Attributes are a feature to create fields for registering arbitrary data to a Catalog using a combination of "Attribute Name" and "Value."

Each "Attribute Name (field name)" is treated as a management unit and is provided as a common input field for all Catalogs within the Brand.

For the created attributes, you can register a corresponding "Value" for each individual Catalog.

For the procedure to create Custom Attributes, please refer to Create a Catalog Custom Attribute.

Main Usage Examples (Apparel Products):

  • Season: Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter
  • Area: Domestic, Overseas

Attribute Code and Identifiers

The Attribute Code serves as a system identifier. You cannot register a code that duplicates any other Custom Attribute among Catalog, Product, or Buyer categories.

Important Notes

Multilingual Expression is Not Supported

For Custom Attributes, it is only possible to register a single Attribute Name.
Please note that multilingual expressions are not supported.

Similarly, it is not possible to register different values for each language for a Catalog.
You must register in one language or use a workaround, such as registering as "Japanese / English."

Troubleshooting

Attribute Code Duplication Error

For the Attribute Code of a custom attribute, it is necessary to enter a value that does not duplicate within all of the following custom attributes:

  • Catalogs
  • Products
  • Buyers

If a duplicate exists, an error will occur during the update.

If no duplicate is found within Catalog Custom Attributes, please check if the code is being used in Custom Attributes of other categories, such as those for Products or Buyers.
