Create a Catalog Custom Attribute

Overview

You can create custom attributes for catalogs.

You can provide unique attribute definitions that do not exist in the standard DEXTRE fields as common input items for all catalogs within a brand.

Purpose

The main purpose of the custom attributes for catalogs feature is to define a framework for data retention by setting attribute names, and to allow the registration of corresponding values for each individual catalog. This allows catalog information to be standardized and managed centrally within a brand.

In addition, by defining common attribute items in advance, input rules can be unified when creating catalogs, which reduces variations in operations and leads to the standardization of tasks and the prevention of dependency on specific individuals.

Feature Description

What are Catalog Custom Attributes?

A Catalog Custom Attribute is a feature for creating items to register arbitrary data in catalogs using a combination of "Attribute Name" and "Value."

One "Attribute Name (item name)" is created as a management unit, and is provided as a common input item for all catalogs within a brand.

For the created attributes, a corresponding "Value" can be registered for each individual catalog.

Main usage examples (apparel products):

  • Season: Spring / Summer, Autumn / Winter
  • Area: Domestic, Overseas

Attribute Codes and Identifiers

The Attribute Code serves as an identifier in the system. Codes that duplicate within all custom attributes for catalogs, products, and buyers cannot be registered.

If the process is successful, the Catalog Custom Attributes will be created with the entered details and added to the list.

Important Notes

Multilingual expressions are not supported

For custom attributes, it is only possible to register a single attribute name.
Please note that multilingual expressions are not supported.

Similarly, it is not possible to register different values for each language for a catalog.
You need to be creative, such as registering in one language or separating them like "Japanese / English."

Troubleshooting

Attribute Code Duplication Error

For the Attribute Code of a custom attribute, it is necessary to enter a value that does not duplicate within all of the following custom attributes:

  • Catalogs
  • Products
  • Buyers

If a duplicate exists, an error will occur during creation.

If no duplicate is found in the Catalog Custom Attributes, please check if it is being used in custom attributes for other categories, such as those for products or buyers.
