Activate an Inventory Allocation Rule

info

This page describes procedures for environments using Inventory Management (New Method).

If your screen layout differs from the one shown on this page, refer to the Inventory Management (Conventional Method) manuals.

Overview

This operation is for activating allocation rules and starting inventory allocation operations.

This section explains how to change draft allocation rules to an active state in Inventory Management (New Method).

Purpose

The purpose of activating allocation rules is to switch created allocation rules from a draft to a state where they can be used for operations, allowing you to start inventory allocation operations.

By treating created allocation rules as active rules, you can clarify the criteria used for automatic allocation when orders are received. When activated rules are referenced during inventory allocation, operations can depend less on each person in charge's judgment.

Feature Description

Status of Allocation Rules to Be Activated

Allocation rules are in DRAFT status immediately after creation. Activating a draft allocation rule allows you to start operations for the target allocation rule.

See Create Allocation Rules for the steps to create allocation rules.

Relationship with Application Condition Settings

If the allocation rule is not activated, application conditions cannot be made ACTIVE in the application condition settings. Activate the target allocation rule before making application conditions active.

See Configure Allocation Rule Application Conditions for the steps to configure application conditions.

Instructions

Navigating to the Allocation Rule Activation Screen

  1. Click Inventory.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Allocation rules.
  4. Click the Details button for the target allocation rule.
  5. Click the Activate allocation rule button.
The "Activate allocation rule" modal opens.

Activating Allocation Rules

  1. Click the Activate allocation rule button on the confirmation screen.

If the process succeeds, the allocation rule is activated.

Important Notes

Cannot Be Returned to a Draft After Activation

Once an allocation rule is activated, it cannot be returned to a DRAFT.

To stop using an activated allocation rule, archive the allocation rule.
