Bulk Convert Legacy Orders

info

This page describes procedures for environments using Inventory Management (New Method).

Overview

This section explains how to bulk convert eligible orders from Inventory Management (Conventional Method) so that they can be handled by Inventory Management (New Method).

Purpose

Use this feature to bulk convert eligible orders from Inventory Management (Conventional Method) so that they can be handled by Inventory Management (New Method).

By specifying an order creation date range, you can convert multiple orders at once, reducing the effort required to review and process pre-migration orders individually.

Feature Description

What Are Legacy Orders?

Orders that were created before migration from Inventory Management (Conventional Method) to Inventory Management (New Method) and have not yet been converted for management under the new method are treated as legacy orders.

Legacy orders are not eligible for inventory allocation or delivery note creation under the new method until they are converted. After conversion, they can be used for inventory allocation and delivery note creation under the new method.

Bulk Conversion Scope and Results

Specify an order creation date range and origin type to narrow down the orders to convert. The order creation date range for a single bulk conversion must be 90 days or less.

Of the orders within the selected order creation date range, incomplete and unconverted orders with remaining convertible quantities are eligible. The following orders and rows are excluded:

  • Completed or already converted orders
  • Invalid, canceled, payment-failed, or other orders that cannot be treated as operationally complete
  • Orders originating from partner inventory
  • Rows with no remaining convertible quantity

All quantities eligible for conversion are treated as waiting inbound.

Lines Used as the Basis for Conversion

The lines used as the basis for conversion depend on whether an Order Confirmation exists.

  • Orders with an Order Confirmation: The Order Confirmation lines are used as the basis for conversion.
  • Orders without an Order Confirmation: The order lines are used as the basis for conversion.

Preview and Commit

In the preview, you can review the counts for candidates, eligible rows, skipped, committed, and failed, along with information about the rows. You can review both orders eligible for conversion and orders excluded from conversion.

You can commit the bulk conversion when the preview is complete and there is at least one eligible row. After the bulk conversion is committed, the counts displayed in the preview and the status of each row are updated.

Instructions

Navigating to the Bulk Conversion Screen

  1. Click Inventory.
  2. Click Sys Ops.
  3. Click Cutover.
  4. Click Legacy Order Bulk Conversion.
The Legacy order bulk conversion page opens.

Setting Bulk Conversion Conditions and Creating a Preview

Enter the conditions in the Bulk conversion conditions section.

  1. Enter Order created at from and Order created at to.

    • Specify the creation date range of the orders to convert.
    • Both are required.
    • Set Order created at to to a date before the Activation boundary.
    • The specified period must be 90 days or less.
  2. Select at least one of the following origin types.

    • Legacy V1 policy: Selects orders that use the inventory order policy of Inventory Management (Conventional Method).
    • No inventory at order creation: Selects orders that had no inventory when they were created.

    By default, both are selected.

  3. Click Create Preview. The Preview result appears.

Confirming Bulk Conversion

  1. In Preview result, review the number of eligible rows and the information for each target row.

  2. Confirm that there is at least one eligible row, then click Commit Bulk Conversion.

  3. In the confirmation dialog, review the number of target rows and confirm that all target quantities will be treated as waiting inbound, then confirm the bulk conversion.

When processing succeeds, the target quantities in eligible rows are converted to a state that can be handled by Inventory Management (New Method) and are treated as waiting inbound.

Important Notes

Split Orders Across Multiple Conversions for Periods Longer Than 90 Days

To convert orders over a period longer than 90 days, divide the period and run the bulk conversion multiple times.

Individual Orders Cannot Be Converted Separately

There is no conversion operation for specifying a single order. Narrow down the orders by order creation date range and origin type, then review the orders to be converted in the preview.

A Committed Bulk Conversion Cannot Be Undone

A committed bulk conversion cannot be undone. Before committing the bulk conversion, review the orders to be converted in the preview.

Troubleshooting

When No Rows Are Available for Bulk Conversion

If the preview result contains no eligible rows, No eligible rows were found appears, and you cannot commit the bulk conversion.

Review the following items, adjust the conditions, and create the preview again:

  • The target order's creation date is within the specified order creation date range
  • The target order's origin type is included in the enabled origin types
  • The target order has not already been converted
  • The target order is incomplete
  • The target order does not originate from partner inventory
  • The target row has a remaining convertible quantity
