Confirm a Purchase Receipt from a Supplier
This page describes procedures for environments using Inventory Management (New Method).
If your screen layout differs from the one shown on this page, refer to the Inventory Management (Conventional Method) manuals.
Overview
This section explains how to check created, unconfirmed receipts and confirm receipt details in Inventory Management (New Method).
Purpose
The main purpose of this feature is to record the quantity, storage location, lot, inventory disposition, expiry, and receipt base unit cost of products received from suppliers as receipt results in Inventory Management (New Method).
By treating receipt confirmation as a business milestone, the stock quantity, storage location, and receipt base unit cost after receipt can be managed under common criteria. Aligning the receipt details referenced after confirmation makes it easier to handle receipt results from suppliers as records of inventory management operations.
Feature Description
What Is Receipt Confirmation?
Receipt confirmation is an operation to confirm receipt details such as the stock quantity, storage location, lot, receipt base unit cost, and other details for created, unconfirmed receipts.
Once a receipt is confirmed, the receipt details at the time of confirmation are recorded and can no longer be edited.
Immediately after confirming a receipt, the status becomes CONFIRMED.
Receipt Status
There are two types of receipt statuses:
- PRE-CONFIRM: The state immediately after creating a receipt, before confirmation. You can edit, confirm, or cancel the receipt.
- CONFIRMED: The state where the receipt is confirmed, and the stock quantity, storage location, lot, and receipt base unit cost are recorded. You cannot edit or cancel the receipt.
Distribution of Sellable Stock to Waiting Allocation Quantities
Stock with an inventory disposition of Sellable in receipt lines is automatically distributed to waiting allocation quantities.
The remaining sellable stock is counted as allocatable quantity (free stock).
Stock with an inventory disposition other than Sellable is not distributed to waiting allocation quantities.
Handling of Receipt Base Unit Cost
Receipt Base Unit Cost is the unit cost used for inventory valuation.
Even for receipts created from purchase orders, Receipt Base Unit Cost takes precedence over the purchase unit price in inventory valuation.
