Edit a Tax Master
Overview
In the Maker App, you can edit the tax master and update the tax information used for tax calculations.
Purpose
The purpose of this feature is to manage tax information used in price-related line items, such as products and shipping costs, centrally by editing the tax master.
In addition, by explicitly specifying a reduced tax rate, you can clearly state the items subject to the reduced tax rate on invoice PDFs and other documents, helping to ensure compliance and control.

Uses of Tax Masters
Taxes can be used for all price-related line items, such as "Products", "Custom Items" when creating invoices, "Shipping Fee", and "Other Fees".
In orders, if a tax setting is applied to a product, the tax will be automatically applied when the target country of the tax matches the buyer's country.
Editable and Non-editable Items
In the tax master, you can edit the following items:
- Display Name
- Enter for each language.
- Required item.
- Tax Identifier
- Required item
- Reduced Tax Rate
- You can explicitly specify that the tax is subject to a reduced tax rate.
- Is Default
- You can specify whether to apply the tax by default when creating products.
- Rounding Mode for Tax Calculation
- You can specify the rounding mode for tax calculation.
The following items cannot be edited:
- Target Country
- Tax Rate
Specifying Reduced Tax Rate
You can explicitly specify a reduced tax rate.
Taxes specified as a reduced tax rate will be clearly marked as such on invoice PDFs and other documents.
Language-specific Entry for Display Name
The display name is entered for each language enabled in Core Preferences.
Rounding Mode for Tax Calculation
You can define the rounding mode for tax calculation. Specify how to process the tax amount if a fraction occurs.
Instructions
Navigating to the Tax Edit Screen
- Click Maker Settings > Open Maker Settings.
You will be redirected to the "Maker Settings" page. - Click Tax.
- Click the Update button for the tax you want to edit.
The "Edit a Tax Rate" modal will open.
How to Fill Out the Form
Edit the following items as necessary.
Target Country and Tax Rate cannot be edited.

Display Name
Enter the name to be displayed on forms, etc., for each language.- Languages enabled in Core Preferences can be used.
- If the Copy checkbox is checked, the text will be copied from the standard language.

Tax Identifier
Enter the identifier for managing the tax in the system.This is also used for integration with external systems and data output in Excel.

Reduced Tax Rate
Check this box if the tax is a reduced tax rate.Taxes specified as a reduced tax rate will be clearly marked as such on invoice PDFs and other documents.

Is Default
Use the toggle button to specify whether to apply the tax by default or not when creating a product.- Yes: Set as a tax to be applied by default.
- No: Set as a tax not to be applied by default.

Rounding Mode
Specify the rounding mode for tax calculation.Select the processing method if a fraction exists in the tax amount calculated by the tax rate.
A fraction refers to the first decimal place (e.g., 0.1 yen) for Japanese Yen, or the third decimal place (e.g., $0.001) for US Dollars.The following options are available for the rounding mode:
- Half Up: If the fractional digit is 0 to 4, it is rounded down, and if it is 5 to 9, it is rounded up.
- Ceiling: All fractional digits are rounded up.
- Floor: All fractional digits are rounded down.
Updating Tax Information
After confirming the entries, click the Update button.
Upon successful update, the changes will be reflected in the tax master.
Important Notes
The rounding mode for tax is managed separately from the rounding mode for Net price
The rounding mode for "Tax" is managed separately from the rounding mode for "Net Price".
The rounding mode defined in the tax master applies only to "Tax Calculation".
