Bulk Upload Product Images

Overview​

This feature allows you to upload image files in bulk and link them to products.

Purpose​

The primary purpose of bulk registering product images is to reduce the time required for image registration by uploading product images and linking them to product data all at once.

By preparing image files with the same naming convention, it also leads to the standardization of work procedures and the prevention of operational errors.

Feature Description​

About Bulk Upload Product Images​

Bulk Upload Product Images is a feature that uploads image files to DEXTRE and links them to product data at the same time.

To use this feature, the products you want to link images to must already exist.

Image File Name Rules​

Linking to product data is performed based on the naming convention of the image file names.
Before uploading, please rename the image files according to the input rules.

Product Image​

Product images are named according to the following rules:

  • Add the Model Number to the beginning of the file name.
  • Add _i_ immediately after the model number.
  • Name the rest according to the characteristics of the image.
    • Linking to products is registered in ascending order of the file name for each model number.

Example:

  • MODEL-001_i_1-front.jpg
  • MODEL-001_i_2-side.jpg
  • MODEL-001_i_3-back.jpg

Images By Symbol​

Symbol images are thumbnails registered for a product’s "Symbol SKU".
Name it according to the following rules:

  • Add the Model Number to the beginning of the file name.
  • Add _ibs_ immediately after the model number.
  • Add the SKU Property Value Code immediately after _ibs_.
    • Enter the code for the SKU property value registered in "Products menu > Product Attributes > SKU Properties tab > Edit for any SKU property."

  • MODEL-001_ibs_99-black.jpg
  • MODEL-001_ibs_94-gray.jpg

Image File Restrictions and Recommendations​

File Size (Restrictions/Recommendations)​

  • The maximum file size for images is 3MB
    • If it exceeds this, an error will occur.
  • The recommended file size is 300KB
    • If it exceeds this, a warning about performance degradation risks will be displayed.
    • It is possible to upload while ignoring the warning.

Aspect Ratio (Recommended)​

For image files to be uploaded, an aspect ratio of 2:3 or 3:2 is recommended.
If the aspect ratio is different, the display may be distorted on product pages or in Catalog PDFs.

Instructions​

Preparing Image Files​

Prepare product images and symbol images.
*Registration of symbol images is optional.

For image file names, please refer to Image File Name Rules.
The rules for the file names of product images and symbol images are explained there.

In addition, there are recommended settings for images.

The recommended file size and aspect ratio are explained there.

Open the Bulk Upload Images modal​

  1. Click the Products menu.
  2. Click Bulk Upload Images.
    The "Bulk Upload Images" modal will open.

Fill out the form​

  1. Image Aspect Ratio
    Select the orientation for displaying the images on the product page from the dropdown.

    • Portrait orientation: Images will be displayed in portrait orientation (2:3).
    • Landscape orientation: Images will be displayed in landscape orientation (3:2).

  2. Select Images
    Select the image files to be uploaded by following these steps:

    • Click Select File and select the image files to be uploaded.
    • Drag and drop the image files into Select File.

    If you collect the image files to be uploaded into one folder, the upload process will be smoother.

Uploading Images​

Once the image selection is complete, click the Upload button.
If the process is successful, the upload of the selected images and the automatic linking to products will be completed.
If the process fails, an error will be displayed. Check the details, resolve the error, and then try again.

Important Notes​

It is assumed that the product master has been created in advance​

This feature assumes that the product master to which the images will be linked has already been registered.

It is necessary to wait until the upload is complete​

Do not close the browser tab until the upload process is finished.

Existing images will be overwritten by the uploaded content​

If images are already registered for the target product, they will all be overwritten by the group of images being uploaded.
If existing images are not included in the uploaded content, the link will be removed.

Be careful not to include files other than images​

If files other than images are included in the target folder for upload, it may cause unintended errors.
Please also check for hidden files such as .DS_Store.

Troubleshooting​

Errors will occur if file names are incorrect​

If file naming is incorrect, linking to product data will not be possible and an error will occur.

  • Check if the Model Number is entered accurately.
  • In the case of symbol images, check if the SKU Property Value Code is entered accurately.
    • Check that no full-width characters or extra spaces are included.

Errors will occur if the file size exceeds 3MB​

The maximum file size for images is 3MB. If it exceeds this, an error will occur, so please compress the files in advance.

A warning is displayed when the recommended file size (300KB) is exceeded​

If the recommended file size of 300KB is exceeded, a warning about performance degradation risks will be displayed.
The warning can be ignored for uploading, but it may lead to a decrease in user experience, such as slow loading when buyers view products.
