Upload Images to the Media Storage

Overview​

Explains the procedures to upload images used in the system and manage and store them by usage.

Purpose​

Used to centralize and unify the information management of image media data used in the system, such as product images and catalog header images.

By dividing and storing them into categories according to usage, it becomes easier to organize which images are used for which purposes.

Feature Description​

Role of media storage​

Media storage is a feature to upload images used in DEXTRE and manage and store them by usage.

Images uploaded from input forms when creating products, catalogs, etc., are also managed in the media storage.

Image categories and usages​

Uploaded images are managed by dividing them into one of the following four categories.

  • Brand: Used for main visual images displayed on brand overview pages, etc.
  • Catalog: Used for main visual images displayed on catalog detail pages, etc.
  • Lookbook: Used as images for lookbooks expanded within the catalog.
  • Product: Used as main images and variation images for product information (master data).

Image file constraints​

Uploading image files has the following constraints.

  • Maximum uploadable file size: Within 3MB
  • Recommended file size: Within 300KB
  • Uploadable file formats: jpeg, png, webp, gif

The behavior by file size is as follows.

  • Files exceeding 3MB: Cannot be uploaded.
  • Files exceeding 300KB: Can be uploaded, but a warning will be displayed.

Display direction of lookbooks and products​

For Lookbook and Product, you can specify Portrait orientation or Landscape orientation for the image frame.

If the aspect ratio of the original image and the specified display direction do not match, the system adds a white background margin and adjusts the display to fit within the specified frame.

Instructions​

Moving to the operation screen​

  1. Click the Media menu.

  2. Open one of the following tabs according to the upload target.

    • Brand *It is open by default.
    • Catalog
    • Lookbook
    • Product

  3. Click the Upload Image button.
    The upload modal corresponding to the selected category will open.

How to enter the form​

  1. Click the Select File button and select the image to upload.
    The thumbnails of the selected images are displayed in a list.

    • Multiple files can be selected.
    • You can add by drag and drop.

  2. Image Aspect Ratio
    For Lookbook or Product images, specify the display direction of the image.

    • Portrait orientation: The image is displayed in portrait orientation (2:3).
    • Landscape orientation: The image is displayed in landscape orientation (3:2).

    When uploading multiple images at the same time, you can specify them all at once with the Apply All button.

Uploading images​

Check the selected image and click the Upload button.

If the process is successful, the image will be uploaded.

Important Notes​

Recommended sizes and aspect ratios by category​

To ensure a display suitable for the usage, use images of the following sizes and aspect ratios according to the category.

  • Main visual images for Brand and Catalog
    • Recommended size: 1920px × 768px
    • Recommended aspect ratio: 5:2
  • Images for Lookbook and Product
    • Recommended aspect ratio: 2:3 (Portrait orientation), or 3:2 (Landscape orientation)

Recommended file size for images​

The recommended file size for images is 300KB per file.

From the perspective of display quality and performance, uploading within the recommended file size as much as possible is recommended.

Storage capacity limit and additional fees​

There is an upper limit (50GB) to your contracted storage capacity for using the media storage. Uploading a large number of large files may exceed this limit.

If the limit is exceeded, additional fees will be incurred (over 50GB, 500 yen/month per 10GB).
