Bulk Import Catalog Custom Attributes (Excel)
Overview
You can manage Catalog Custom Attributes using bulk import with an Excel file (.xlsx).
You can perform the following three actions simultaneously in a single import:
- New Registration of custom attributes
- Update existing custom attributes
- Reorder the custom attribute master list based on the order in the file
Purpose
This feature is used for the following purposes:
- To efficiently register a large number of Catalog Custom Attributes
Since you can register multiple Catalog Custom Attributes at once, you can significantly reduce the effort of registering them one by one on the screen.
This is especially useful for setup at the start of operations. - To bulk update existing Catalog Custom Attributes
You can efficiently change attribute names, search form display settings, etc., for multiple Catalog Custom Attributes. - To organize the display order of Catalog Custom Attributes
By adjusting the sort order in the Excel file, you can bulk change the display order within the DEXTRE Merchant App.
Instructions
The flow for bulk importing Catalog Custom Attributes is as follows:
- Download the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import
- Edit the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import
- Import the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import into DEXTRE
1. Download the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import

Click Catalogs in the header menu.

Click the Catalog Custom Attributes button at the top right of the screen.
You will be redirected to the Catalog Custom Attributes settings page. -
Click the Bulk Import Custom Attributes button.
The Bulk Import Custom Attributes modal will open. -
Select the File Language from the dropdown.
You can specify Japanese or English, which changes the language inside the XLSX file. -
Click the Download button.
The XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import will be downloaded.
2. Edit the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import
Open the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import that you downloaded in the previous section, 1. Download the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import.
Description of Each Item
Please refer to the following to fill in the details for New Registration or Update.
- Column A:
Code
This is the key identifier for the bulk import process.
If you enter a code that is already registered as an existing custom attribute, it will be processed as an Update.
If you enter an unregistered code, it will be processed as a New Registration. - Column B:
Attribute Name
The name of the custom attribute. It is used as the display name. - Column C:
Applicable Target
For bulk import of Catalog Custom Attributes, you must enterCatalog. - Column D:
Visibility
For bulk import of Catalog Custom Attributes, you must enterPrivate. - Column E:
Display in Search Form
You can specify whether to display this in the Catalog Search form within the DEXTRE Merchant App.
Entertrueorfalse.true: Displays in the catalog search form.false: Hides from the catalog search form.
For Updating existing custom attributes, the following columns can be changed:
- Column B:
Attribute Name - Column E:
Display in Search Form
The following cannot be changed. Do not edit them.
- Column A:

If a new code is entered, it will be treated as a New Registration. - Column C:
Applicable Target
This is because specifyingCatalogallows bulk import of custom attributes for catalogs. - Column D:
Visibility
Catalog Custom Attributes only supportPrivate.
IfPublicis entered, it will result in an error during import.
*Even for New Registration, please enter the fixed values for Applicable Target and
Visibility.
About Reordering Custom Attributes in the Bulk Import XLSX File
During import, the master order of Catalog Custom Attributes will be rearranged based on the row
order in the bulk import XLSX file.
Specifically, entering the following data will change the display order of the Catalog Custom
Attribute master in the DEXTRE Merchant App.

Before:

Ultimately, the overall order of Catalog Custom Attributes in the DEXTRE Merchant App will be updated based on the List Position specified in the next section, 3. Import the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import into DEXTRE.
3. Import the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import into DEXTRE
Once you have finished editing the XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import, import it into the DEXTRE Merchant App.

Click Catalogs in the header menu.

Click the Catalog Custom Attributes button at the top right of the screen.
You will be redirected to the Catalog Custom Attributes settings page. -
Click the Bulk Import Custom Attributes button.
The Bulk Import Custom Attributes modal will open. -
List Position (*1)
Select one of the following two options from the dropdown.- Top of the list: Moves them before custom attributes not included in the process.
- Bottom of the list: Moves them after custom attributes not included in the process.

Select a XLSX File Select the edited XLSX file for bulk custom attribute import.

Click the Import button.
If the process is successful, the data will be updated according to the contents of the XLSX file and the specified list position.
If the process fails, an error will be displayed. Follow the error message to correct the XLSX file.
*1: This applies when there are custom attributes that are not included in the bulk import XLSX
file but are registered in the DEXTRE Merchant App (i.e., custom attributes not targeted for
processing).
This specifies whether to move the custom attributes from the XLSX file before or after the
custom attributes that are not being processed.
If no such unprocessed custom attributes exist (meaning all registered custom attributes are included in the XLSX file), the processing result will follow the order in the XLSX file regardless of which option is selected.
Important Notes
Regarding changeable columns in the bulk custom attribute import XLSX file
For Updating existing custom attributes, the following columns can be changed:
- Column B:
Attribute Name - Column E:
Display in Search Form
The following cannot be changed. Do not edit them.
- Column A:

Troubleshooting
Duplicate Code Error
The custom attribute Code must be unique across all custom attribute Applicable Targets (for
Catalog, for Buyer, and for Product).
If a duplicate exists, it will result in an error during import.
If you cannot find a duplicate among the Catalog Custom Attributes, please check if it is being used in other Applicable Targets, such as for buyers or products.
